Data Confidentiality

How DiskAnalyst handles the data on a device submitted for recovery.

A device sent to us for recovery is handled as a recovery case, not just a repair job — the files on it are often personal, financial or business-critical, and we treat them accordingly throughout diagnosis and recovery.

How We Handle Your Data

  • Devices are logged and tracked as individual recovery cases from intake through to return.
  • Recovered data is treated as confidential — it belongs to you, not to us.
  • Access to a case is limited to the personnel directly involved in diagnosing and recovering it.
  • We do not intentionally share your data with third parties, except where reasonably required for the agreed service — for example, a courier used to return your recovered data or original device to you.

Data Retention

Retention of recovered data depends on the individual recovery case and agreed delivery arrangements. Customers who require a specific retention or deletion arrangement should discuss this with DiskAnalyst before recovery work begins.

Confidentiality & Compliance

We don't hold any third-party certifications or compliance accreditations for data handling at this time, and we won't claim otherwise. If that changes, this page will be updated to reflect it. For our broader data-handling terms, see our Privacy Policy page.

Questions About a Specific Case

If you have a confidentiality question about a device you've submitted or are considering submitting — including sensitive RAID or NAS business data — contact us directly and we'll answer before you send anything in.
