Data recovery is a distinct technical discipline that requires its own tools, processes and expertise. DiskAnalyst's laboratory is focused specifically on diagnosing and recovering failed hard drives, SSDs, RAID arrays and other storage media — it is not a general computer or device repair service.
What Our Laboratory Does
HDD Firmware Diagnostics
Identifying and working with service-area and firmware-level faults that can make a mechanically sound drive appear dead or unrecognized.
Controlled Media Imaging
Sector-by-sector imaging of unstable or degraded media in a controlled environment, rather than working directly and repeatedly on the original drive.
Unstable-Drive Handling
Assessing and working with drives that are clicking, overheating, or intermittently disconnecting, without accelerating further damage.
SSD / Flash Diagnostics
Controller- and firmware-level diagnosis for SSD and flash-based media, which requires different tools and expertise than mechanical hard drives.
RAID Reconstruction
Rebuilding a RAID array virtually from its member drives, without altering or overwriting the original media.
Electronics Inspection
Assessing controller boards and other electronic components for damage that can prevent a drive from powering up or responding correctly.
Data Extraction Workflow
A structured process for extracting, verifying and returning recoverable files once the underlying media issue has been addressed.
Source-Media Preservation
Keeping the original device intact and unaltered wherever possible throughout diagnosis and recovery.
